Friends Place hosting community party to celebrate first anniversary

The care team and residents at Friends Place, are preparing for a day of fun and entertainment as they get ready to host an amazing community party to celebrate the care home’s first anniversary.  “We opened the doors of Friends Place last July and have had a wonderful year welcoming new residents, respite guests and day care clients to our outstanding care home,” said Alina Gutu, the General Manager at Friends Place. “The opening of the care home

was a continued reflection of Friends of the Elderly’s long-standing commitment and promise to provide high-quality care to everyone it supports and cares for and, looking back, it’s incredible how many meaningful moments and joyous experiences have been shared in the space of a year.”

“On Sunday 19th July to celebrate our first anniversary, and as part of our on-going pledge to keep all the residents engaged with, and part of, the local community, we will be hosting a fun, interactive and inclusive day, filled with engaging activities and great entertainment,” added Elisha Hall-Jones, the Activities Coordinator at the care home.

Friends Place’s Community First Anniversary Party will be a fun-filled, jam-packed fully inclusive and accessible event. “We’ll have a wide range of Garden Games for everyone to get involved with, the incredibly artistic Jaime from Cr8 Facepainting will be on hand to give everyone party-vibe and astounding make overs, plus there will be a great range of live entertainment for the residents and visitors to enjoy,” added Alina.

“We’ll have something to suit everyone’s eclectic musical tastes too,” continued Elisha. “There will be uplifting songs from The Take Note Tilehurst Choir, unforgettable music from The Pheonix Ukulele Band and a not to be missed performance by Jewels, the well-known feel-good live vocalist who will be performing both upbeat originals and crowd-pleasing covers to get the everybody up and dancing – plus, delicious cocktails created by Midas Touch Events.”

Friends Place’s Chef, will be serving up a delicious BBQ and refreshments and the care team will be on hand to give guided tours of the care home, taking in the bright and comfortable lounges and garden rooms, spacious and airy bedrooms, the modern and fully equipped Beauty Salon, the high-tech Cinema Room, Dining Rooms and the care home’s very own bar.
