Free community bar quiz and games afternoon at Friends Place Care Home

The residents and care team at Friends Place, are looking forward to inviting members of their local community to join them in getting their ‘Game On’ and taking part in a free Bar Quiz and Darts Competition. “On Saturday 21st February from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., we are inviting our local community to come along and join us at our free Community Bar Quiz and Games event,” said Alina Gutu, the General Manager at the care home. “The residents are getting ready to ‘Quizmerize’ everyone with their pub quiz and trivia knowledge and have even started ‘throwing their arrows’ and playing darts in our Bar as a warm-up for the competition.”

“The afternoon is shaping up to be a wonderful community event,” added Elisha Hall-Jones, the Activities Coordinator at Friends Place. “In addition to the Bar Quiz and Darts Competition, we will be offering our guests two free alcoholic beverages plus unlimited mocktails, soft drinks and tasty bar snacks and nibbles.”

“The fun community event will be an ideal opportunity for the residents and community members to come together and share an inclusive and amusing afternoon and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere,” continued Alina.

“The traditional Bar Quiz, which will be full of teasing questions and cryptic clues, plus the Darts Competition, which will be a Velcro Darts board and arrows, will have contestants showing off their ‘Quiz-tastic’ and ‘On The Oche’ skills which both Luke Littler, the current World Champion Dart Player and Kevin Ashman, who is recognised as one of the world’s greatest Quizzers, would be proud of,” added Elisha.

“The residents are full of trivia knowledge and really do surprise us every day,” continued Alina. “We were chatting about the Bar Quiz, and the subject of random facts came up. Out of the blue, a resident told me that Octopuses have three hearts, a fact I never knew, and that group of Flamingos is called a Flamboyance; again, something I’d never heard. They really are fonts of all knowledge.”

“There’s no need to book to join in the fun on Saturday 21st February,” added Elisha. “Guests can just come along and join in the fun. Either come as a team, or join a team when you arrive, the choice is yours.”

“Everyone at Friends Place is looking forward to welcoming our neighbours, members of our local community, friends and residents’ relatives to what promises to be a fun-filled afternoon,” concluded Alina.
