Redcot-Residential-Care-Home-Retains-GOOD-CQC-RatingOur Haslemere-based residential care home, Redcot, the residents and care team are celebrating retaining their Good CQC rating following an inspection and report published on 5th November. “Everyone here at Redcot is delighted to retain our Good CQC rating. It is a true testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of all the Care Team and shows just what a wonderful home, community and family we have built,” said Latasha Jarrett, the Registered Manager at Redcot. The CQC assessment, which was undertaken on 7th August, with the report published on 5th November, rated Redcot as ‘Good’ in all areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.

It found that risks to people’s safety were known to staff and managed well, with systems in place to monitor their well-being. Staff demonstrated understanding of their safeguarding responsibilities and concerns and the residents lived in a safe environment which was well maintained. “The CQC’s report highlighted that residents were able to make choices regarding how they received their support and that the Care Team respected their decisions, and the Care Team was described as being caring, compassionate and respectful of the residents’ privacy,” continued Latasha. Residents also told the CQC Inspectors that they did not feel bored or isolated and were able to join in with the many, meaningful and organised activities as well as spending time with their own hobbies and interests. “It was great to hear that residents and their relatives felt they were able to raise any suggestions and concerns with the Management and Care Teams and these would be addressed,” added Latasha.

“It was especially wonderful to hear that the residents told the Inspectors that they were happy and safe living at Redcot and saw it as their home and that food – which is prepared using fresh ingredients with residents’ choices, preferences and favourites – was always available.” The CQC Inspectors also reported that there were enough staff available to ensure the residents’ needs were met safely and that they did not have to wait for their care. “The residents, who often share jokes together and with the Care Team, have positive, personal relationships with each other and there is a great, helpful and positive culture running throughout the care home,” added Latasha.

“The Care and Management Teams thoroughly enjoy spending time with all the residents, we really are one big happy family; and retaining our Good CQC Rating is a great testament to all the Care Teams’ hard work, commitment and devotion to all the residents, ” concluded Latasha.
