Woking Care Home is proud of its twice weekly community coffee mornings

Coffee and CakeAs part of its continued commitment, dedication and promise to keep all the residents it supports and cares for engaged with, and part of, the local community, Bernard Sunley, our Woking-based residential, nursing and dementia care home, opens its doors to its neighbours, friends and the wider local community, inviting them to visit for a free coffee morning each Monday and Wednesday.

“Our Community Coffee Mornings take place every Monday and Wednesday morning, in our bright and airy Smiles Café from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m, said Andy Cumper, the Registered Manager at Bernard Sunley. “They are the ideal occasion for members of our Woking community, visitors, potential residents or respite guests and residents’ family members to pop in and join the residents and enjoy a free warming cup of coffee and a tasty, sweet treat.”

“The twice weekly coffee mornings not only give the Care Team a good opportunity to meet new members of our local community, catch up with old friends and chat to prospective residents or respite guests, and also provide an additional, great interactive time for the residents,” added Monika Ahmed, one of the Activity Coordinators at the care home.

“The Community Coffee Mornings also give visitors the opportunity to see, first-hand, some of our great facilities. When guests arrive for the Community Coffee Mornings they make their way through our fully accessible and refurbished light, bright corridors to the charming Smiles Café. They pass one of our beautiful external courtyards, our relaxing indoor Italian Courtyard and catch a glimpse of our modern and fully equipped hairdressing salon.”

“No bookings are required for the Community Coffee Mornings, our doors are open each Monday and Wednesday with fresh coffee, delicious cakes and pastries ready from 11 a.m.,” said Monika.

“We always look forward to welcoming everyone to Bernard Sunley to enjoy not only our lovely surroundings, but also a warming cup of coffee, good conversation, good company and tasty treats,” concluded Andy.
