2023 December highlights from our care homes and services

Across our care homes and services, residents had a wonderful time enjoying a mixture of fun activities and celebrations last month. Here are our 2023 December highlights:

Often Friends of the Elderly is the last hope for older people who are struggling.

“We receive numerous calls and applications for grants to support older people who literally have nowhere else to go. The requests we receive are not for excessive, wasteful or ostentatious items, they are necessary, basic requests for help.” Mark Wilson, COO.

Donate now to help fund warm clothes, bedding and vital home repairs to help reduce stress or isolation felt by older people this winter.

Services bring festive cheer to Worcestershire Cathedral

Clients and residents at our Kidderminster Day Care, Malvern Day Care and Friends of the Elderly Malvern care homes used their creative skills to make bespoke and beautiful decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival at Worcestershire Cathedral.

At Bernard Sunley, our Woking-based nursing and dementia care home, numbers and maths enthusiast, Margaret ‘Betty’ Carr, has had a wonderful day celebrating her 87th birthday with her family and care home friends.

Bournemouth residents enjoy festive mince pie fun

Residents at RNNH in Bournemouth, Dorset, got their Christmas activities off to a ‘Reindeer Flying’ start. They took part in a festive Christmas mince pie baking afternoon that ended with a vote to find out the best flavour of mince pie.
