2023 March highlights from our care homes and services

Across our care homes and services, residents had a wonderful time enjoying a mixture of fun activities and celebrations last month. Here are our 2023 March highlights:

At Friends of the Elderly, we always have the wellbeing of our residents and clients at the heart of everything we do. To reinforce our commitment, our Charity has a wide and varied range of meaningful activities designed to suit and fulfil all our residents’ and clients’ physical and emotional needs; all of which are tailored to individuals’ likes, hobbies, favourite pastimes and interests.

At The Lawn care home in Alton, Hampshire, resident Colin Jones and his family made the big decision to make the care home his permanent residence following an enjoyable respite break – and he hasn’t looked back since.

The clock is ticking until the start of this year’s TCS London Marathon when international TikTok star, ‘The Folding Lady’ Sophie Liard, will be taking on the 26.2 memorable miles for our charity.

At Friends of the Elderly, we not only always have the wellbeing of our residents and clients at the heart of everything we does, but also the welfare, health and safety of our employees.

To honour long service staff members, awards were arranged with celebrations across our homes, services and central office.

At the end of March, Wendy Carpenter marked her last day as she retired after over 20 years at Friends of the Elderly.

Wendy was Day Care Services Manager at Wallington Day Care and has done wonderful work to support older people to live well in later life. Thank you so much and wishing you all the best for your next adventures.
