Location: Victoria, London
Salary range: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Full time: 35 hours per week
25 days annual leave plus public bank holidays (pro rata)
We are looking for an enthusiastic Interim Health & Safety Manager to act as Friends of the Elderly’s lead competent person for health and safety and to provide professional support and advice to our management team.
You will ensure the organisation complies with current health and safety legislation and work proactively with managers to establish and maintain systems that promote best practice and a culture of safe working across the organisation. Through this you will help to provide our residents and service users with an environment in which they can maintain their independence, choice and dignity.
You will be an effective advocate for the organisation in your relationships with external agencies, balancing the compliance and quality agenda with the wider aims of the charity.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant professional qualification. You will also have a proven track record of delivering health and safety management and effectively communicating practical advice to all levels of an organisation. To adequately fulfil the full extent of the role it is anticipated that the successful candidate will be comfortable with extensive travel between our central office and all Friends of the Elderly sites.
Applicants must have an extensive knowledge of current legislation and best practice and should have an understanding of the needs of older people.
The post will be for a minimum of 6 months but may be extended if the need arises.
