Friends of the Elderly is a not-for-profit charity focussed on giving older people in our care the chance to live fulfilled lives – whether their stay with us is for daytime visits only or for longer term stays. If you’re looking for an elderly day care centre, you’ll find we offer a home from home feel where you can relax in a safe and friendly environment, while your carer can enjoy a break from their caring role.
All of our services and activities are focused on supporting social interaction and wellbeing. Our trained staff and volunteers will be there to support you throughout the day.
Our Malvern and Woking day care for elderly people services are part of a unique hub based range of connected support services which Friends of the Elderly provides. Along with an exceptional day care service, you can join in with a variety of activities and events delivered across the range of services that form part of our hubs.
You’ll also find our specialised day care centres in Kidderminster, Worcestershire and Wallington, Surrey.
Our team is trained in supporting older people with a range of age related conditions, including short-term memory loss and dementia, and are always happy to help with any issues or concerns you may have.

Our day care centres, are open five days a week from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
You can choose to come along for a full day, a couple of hours or several days a week – we are always happy to be flexible to accommodate your needs.
We endeavour to make life as easy as we can for you and can provide or support you to access transport if it is needed.
Our friendly staff are trained so that you and your family can rest assured knowing the care and support you receive are built around your individual needs and preferences.
You can self-refer to the service or be referred by a relative or health professional.
What can you expect from our day care service?
Everyone who attends the service are welcomed to participate in the daily activities, all built around each individual’s likes and preferences. These include helping in the garden, musical movement, local outings, baking treats for everyone to enjoy, chatting to your friends or just sitting quietly reading the newspaper or book of your choice..
You will always have the opportunity to choose how you will spend the day with us, with a range of activities available. Our team take the time to get to know you and can plan activities around your hobbies and interests.
We work closely with the community to ensure you are supported to stay connected to your surroundings and are able to enjoy everyday life.
Whilst you are with us you can enjoy a light breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea – all prepared by our on-site chefs who ensure a balanced and nutritious diet is maintained.
Our day care services are like one big family. Treating each person as a unique individual and building their care and support around their personal preferences and needs are the ethos of our services.
