Orford House is a residential care home set in extensive grounds in Coulsdon. It is one of nine care homes run by the not-for-profit charity Friends of the Elderly. Our focus is to give older people in our care the chance to live fulfilled lives, whether they stay with us for a longer residential stay, or a short-term respite break. Tucked away within picturesque grounds behind Woodcote Park Golf Course, we provide residential care at our Coulsdon site .
Orford House is built in the Georgian style and provides residential care and is staffed by a compassionate, enthusiastic team dedicated to making Coulsdon feel like home.
Everyone is different – that’s why we create a personalised care plan for each of our residents. That way, we can make sure that your individual needs are being catered for.

Coulsdon is one of our most picturesque locations. Positioned in stunning grounds, you can enjoy the local countryside while being close to the hustle and bustle of town.
Friends and family are always welcome to visit Orford house. They can join in at meal times, during an activity, or just sit and talk in our beautiful grounds.

Orford House is a beautiful home, set in 44 acres of parkland abundant with deer and wildlife, with a caring and compassionate team who are not only supportive of our residents but also each other. I am always on hand for our residents and their families to help them with any queries or questions they may have and ensure that any concerns are dealt with and resolved immediately.
We all take time to get to know each resident, and chat about their likes, dislikes, interests and hobbies. Our wide activities calendar suits everybody’s preferences and makes sure everyone can take part in what they want when they want.

All our care homes use technology such as electronic care planning and acoustic listening to keep our residents safe.
We have a devoted property team who work to keep our homes safe and secure.
We run a Dementia Education Programme in partnership with Worcester University, to ensure our staff know how to best support our residents living with dementia.
We provide regular training around Infection Prevention Control, and we are Covid Wise.
We are proud that many of our staff have worked with us for over 20 years, allowing us to provide consistent care teams to best support our residents.
Fees are based on an assessment of your individual care needs and will be calculated following a visit. Our fees at Orford House start from £1,335 per week.
