Our team provides person-centred care and support for older people, including for individuals living with dementia. We specialise in care planning that addresses the unique needs of each resident. Our range of services includes:

Cognitive stimulation and therapeutic activities: We offer cognitive stimulation activities and sensory experiences, such as gentle massages and hand care, in a soothing environment with soft music, ideal for those living with dementia and cognitive impairment.
Varied and engaging activities: From themed events and cooking sessions to arts and crafts, reminiscence groups, music, and poetry, our activities cater to a wide range of interests. We also encourage participation in daily tasks such as gardening, serving refreshments, or folding laundry, helping residents maintain a sense of independence.
Nutritional care and hydration: To support those who may not wish to sit for meals, we provide grazing plates with assorted snacks throughout the home, allowing residents to eat as they please. We also ensure hydration by placing water and juice in various locations.

“I have worked in the Care Sector since 2012. After beginning my career in care, I quickly realised that I was making a positive change in the lives of those people I looked after, which is so rewarding and something no other job was – and still is – able to provide.

I have been with Friends of the Elderly for nearly three years, becoming the Care Home Manager at New Copford Place in August 2020. I have a great team and we work closely together to ensure each resident is supported, inspired and receives the highest level of bespoke care which is tailored to their individual needs.

Our wide and varied activities programme is created through listening to our residents’ preferences, likes, hobbies and interests as making a positive difference to all our residents’ lives is at the heart of all we do, every day. All the Team gets involved and I’ve even been known to join in with the singing and dancing sessions.

The best thing about being the Care Home Manager at New Copford Place is seeing our residents smiling, as it makes me feel that I have, in some small way, contributed a little bit to that smile.”

Fees

Fees are based on an assessment of your individual care needs and will be calculated following a visit. Our fees at New Copford Place start from £1,370 per week.
